    • Both Giuseppe's and Vincenza's birth certificates have notations about their marriage. Each shows 31 April 1903 as the marriage date. There are only 30 days in April. Their marriage certificate shows 21 April 1903 as the marriage date. I believe the 31 April notation on both of their birth certificates were meant to be 21 April.

The marriage certificate lists "fu Girolamo" as Giuseppe's father. "Fu" means "late" or "deceased." Conclusion: Girolamo died before 21 Apr 1903.

Married at Sant'Antonio di Padova church (1645, historic) (St. Anthony's Catholic Church)

According to Aunt Jean, Giuseppe was being blackmailed by the Mafia to pay protection money because his businesses, butcher shop and slaughterhouse, were doing so well. They had to leave in the middle of the night. They were going to go back to Italy, but first stopped in Trenton, NJ, to visit friends. They were unable to get out of the country because of WW I, so they settled in Trenton.

Moved to Trenton from St. Louis when Frances was 9 -- sometime after 10 Apr 1917 when Joseph was born.

      Lists: Alfonso Joseph, butcher, 1028-1/2 N. 7th r 855 Franklin Ave. - don't think this is him.

1910 Census - not found living at 5332 Shaw Ave. in St. Louis where Francesca was born. He & his wife and Francesca may have been in Italy at the time of the census.
5332 Shaw is found in St. Louis (Independent City), St. Louis Ward 24, District 381, image 43 on Ancestry. The Ottolini family resided there in 1910.

When Vincenza returned from Italy on 15 Aug 1910, she stated was going to her husband in St. Louis and gave the address 1908 Cooper Street. Cooper Street is now Marconi Avenue. It intersects Daggett & Shaw.
